Wastewater treatment becomes the process of turning wastewater in to safe and workable water. Wastewater means the water which is not suitable for future use. With the biological wastewater treatment plants, biological matter including bacteria comes to break down waste things but physical treatment comes to use chemical reaction including physical processes. Biological systems are the best one for wastewater treatment regarding households and business premises. Physical plants are used mostly in the industries, manufacturing firms and factories.

How does the wastewater treatment plant run?

Wastewater collection – Collection of wastewater is the first process which can go through municipal administration, business owners and home owners. After collection, the water is directed into plant through the underground drainage systems or exhauster tracks. The transportation of wastewater comes to run under hygienic conditions.

Secondary treatment – Secondary treatment is called sludge process. The process is involved adding seed sludge for the wastewater. At the first time, air is pumped into large aeration tanks which mix the water with the seed sludge. The process is the production of large particles which are settled down at the bottom of tanks for 3 to 6 hours.

Bio-Solids Handling – The solid things which are come out after primary and secondary processes, are directed to digesters. The digesters with solid wastes are to be treated for a month in need of anaerobic digestion. In the time of process, methane gases are created. The methane gas is formed as a source of energy and even it can be used to produce electric power./

Tertiary treatment – This treatment is similar to the treatment used in drinking water treatment. The particular treatment might be able to remove 99 percent impurities from the wastewater. This process creates effluent water to make the water more quality oriented. The process is completely different as it needs special equipments, skilled operators and chemicals.

Disinfection – When the wastewater comes to be a form fresh water after primary treatment and secondary treatment, the water contains some diseases caused organism. To remove them, the wastewater needs to be treated for 20 to 25 minutes with a touch of chlorine and sodium and hypochlorite. The treated water now becomes some better to guard the health of the animals and the people.

The sludge that is produced and collected during the primary and secondary treatment processes requires concentration and thickening to enable further processing. It is put into thickening tanks that allow it to settle down and later separates from the water. This process can take up to 24 hours. The remaining water is collected and sent back to the huge aeration tanks for further treatment. The sludge is then treated and sent back into the environment and can be used for agricultural use.

Sludge Treatment – The sludge treatment is processed for thickening tanks which allow to settle down the separation from the water. The process comes to run on 24 hours. The rest water is sent back to the tanks for further treatment. The sludge is forced to run into environment for agricultural use.
